our bunny had babies

we have 2 black rex x lop rabbits,and the female had about six or so babies the other day,there is a mix of black,grey and brown bubs,oh they are so cute,like overgrown mice,they are getting bigger everyday,n we cant wait to they are hoppin around.

Cool babies are so cute.... I would love to own a long eared guinee pig...lol...we live in qld

oh,no they are bald they are like mice,with no hair and their eyes arent open,even after a week now,and they are not even running around yet,they will be cute when they are but!!
WA had that law a few years back,dont know why its changed,but we have to be careful of mixamitotas?were the mossies bite em and carry the disease.its best to have a flyscreened cage.

How cute they would be lovely. How come queensland does not allow rabbits as pets? What a pain.

because of mixamitosis (probably spelled wrong) You get very heavy fines if you keep a rabbit in QLD thats why we call them long eared guinea pigs... just to cover up their name

it is funny some people trully think there is a breed of lond eared guinea pig.

its unfortunate, but there is a $30,000 fine in place, i wonder how the property owners get on in QLD that have them on their place, bloody laws, there pathetic at times, try some of the laws with keeping some birds, and the ones trying to enforce them are just pure dumbasses, fair dinkum, we live in Australia practically all that seperates all of us in a bloody line on the map, each state has a diff law about something, no wonder they cant even follow it( the law) themselves, truth be known these domestic rabbits wouldnt stand a chance out in the real world, they r great pets and i personally believe everyone should be able to have one if they choose. cheers

i remember when i was a much younger person, a friend gave me a smokey coloured white doe, and i had another friend with a tri coloured male, after the mating, i vividly remember waiting for the offspring, as the design of the cage didnt readily allow me to enter, it was some time after the birth that i did manage to get in for a look, there was 8 in total and a good mix of colours from white, blue, yellow and tri colours, what an awesome experience, i still remember the day the little ones ventured out of the nest for the first time, what a feeling for a young person, i wish all kids could experience it.
when we went over to Europe last yr, we went to the bulldog kennel of my friend, his bis partner was into producing rabbits for the meat industry, we went into some big sheds like poultry sheds and they used the same type battery hen setup, on the front of them was a small cage prob around 40cm x 40cm this is where they have their kittens, all the does are AI'd, what a huge job that would be, in each of the cages were one doe and her kittens, all white ones, what a site.
just for those that are not sure of the process, the female pluckes her belly fur off to build her nest, the young are born pink and furless, my experience was when she left her nest she would cover the entrance of her nest with dirt or what ever she could scratch up.
