Chickens my babies

OK this is not an easy thing to right but i needs to be done...



I have 4 beautiful chickens for rehoming..



Shadow is a Black silkie cross and i have had her fom an egg she is
sweet and loving and will come when you call HEY CHOOK CHOOK...


Shelby is a bantam mix she is red and thinks she is a parrot and will happily sit on you sholder..



Chook chook is a red layer hen that looks like she came from a chicken
farm due to a rounded beak this means her food dish must be deep for
her to scoop the food..


Pickles is a Small white chicken ans still very young.. she came from a
mate that had lager chickens who almost attacked it to death.. Pickles
is very sweet and will follow you around as she was rased by people...


I type this with a heavy heart I ADOR my chicken BUT they have started
to attack the birds in our avery and we cannot let them free range as
we have 2 BIG dogs that are not chicken friendly..


They MUST go together as they are like a family... They need to go to a
home with a very very BIG cage or free range as that is what they get
here.. The new owner MUST agree that if for any reason they cannot be
cared for anymore I get to take them back and have first choice before
anybody else.... there is a form stating this so there is no
missunderstanding



I am not charging a fee as no price can be put on them...

As you can tell i care very much for them but they almost killed a
quail and budgie and down sizing there home would just be cruel after
giving them a taste of SPACE.

They could have come here if they were closer they would have been perfect but the distance between us is just too far. Good luck in your search. They would have had all the free range they needed here with the other chooks. And as we DON"T kill ours they would have lived a full and happy life. My girls are my pets as well so I understand where your coming from completely. I have a couple of chicken forums if you want the links I am happy to put them up for you. Perhaps someone is looking for pets for their young children or first project or something. Just a thought have you thought of a petting zoo etc.
They sound delightful birds, good luck in your search for a new home. Oh and great big for being so brave.

I will ask my hubbies cousin if she can take them. She owns a property in peachester and has my sisters 4 red chooks (sorry dont know what breed they are) also she has ducks. They free range in the day and are put away at night.
will try to get in contact with her today otherwise will see her on the weekend... she is hard to contact

I haven't been able to but an add ontn he net or in the paper as i do worrry about who will call up for them ...

One of my mats will take them but he has a stafffy pup that he lets play with them and i dont want the scared to death..

That is fair enough hopefully it will work out with sharreem you dont want them ending up on a dinner plate somewhere.

No i dont!!! nor do i want them neglected or chased by a dog for the rest of their days.....

I hope it works out as well..... i just wish they would leave the little birds alone..

It would be good if they did it is funny how they are doing this. My girls are protective of one another and unfortunately I think Boris our rooster has met his fate with a fox or something else. He has simply disappeared which is sad. Two of the hens have died off and now I think I am going to have to go and get a couple more hens but no roosters. I am going to wait until the new chook house is built prior to that so currently our chicken population has gone from six to three...

OK UPDATE...

I had a wonderful home linend up for my girls BUT for 2 nights i ahve been in tears thinking about them going to someone Else even if the home was great for them

I felt as if i was failing them and today while feeding them i had a total break down i just cannot do it... We went out got more wood and Wire and fencing..
We are making a new coop and fencing half the yard so they can free roam..

I know is is weak but i jsut couldnt rehome 4 family members

Thats great news I have not been able to get in contact with catherine, she must be away at a rodeo somewhere with no range..
