How did you choose your dogs name?

Just wondered how everyone came to name your dogs..

Herbie got his name because we are a Volkswagen mad family so what other name could he have..

In the summer we go to lots of VW shows and between the family we have 6 VW's and I don't even drive

My first car was a 64 model VW. I loved it so much but I couldnt fit my bales of hay and bags of horse food it it too well so sold it for a holden HZ Ute .
The girls named Angel her name because before her we had a kelpie who turned vishious so I told them that she was a devil dog and we would buy an angel dog. so they decided that angel would be the perfect name for her... We called Ebony her name because she is mostly black

My two names came via other people actually.

Mali means small or tiny in serbian and that was perfect as when he came home he fitted into the palm of my hand and to keep him warm I would have to put him in a sock. Mala means the same for a female dog.

Hilary came via my niece she loves Hilary Duff so she called her Hilary after her. Many people think she is named after Hillary Clinton NOOO far from it.

AWWWW I LOVE VW............ they are the one car you get me interested it lol... OK NAMES..

Kimba- when she was born she was WHITE and the only girl in the litter with no black mask... To this day she is still very pale... But KIMBA is the white lion so it was fitting.

Bethany- The breeder named her that and well she looks SOOOO much like a Beth so we kept it.

Jenna- My brother had a MAJOR obsession with the BOLTO movie so he named her after Boalto's love Jenna.

Candy- We LOVED the name Candace But the breeder hated it so we made a comprimise to call her candy... So Ztoy sweet cady she was..

Zena- HAHA becasue we called her the worrior Basset so Zena the worrior princess LOL.

Molly-Wog...- HAHAHA case we had NO idea what breed she was so we called her a WOG dog... and Wog is a horrible name so we put Molly infornt of it LOL.

Layla- My Uncle named her that beacuse it was such a pretty name and even iof she drools and smells and snores she is a BEAUTIFUL girl..... and when we got her how could we change it.



So yeh that is all 7 HAHAHAHA........

chloe is was 5 months old when i got her and thats the name she came with and it suits her!

Mingo is short for Flamingo, I love Flamingos and I knew before I even got her what her name would be and that she would be pink.
My hubby named Natalie, he likes that name and it suits her..

Very interesting isn't it how we all have stories about our dogs names....

It is and they are special meanings to all the owners and the dogs. I like unusual names personally.

When I was thinking of getting a puppy I just wanted to name him/her Biscuit and when he can into foster care for some reason I thought he was black and three days later when I picked him up he was brindle and white which is just like a Biscuit...

Thinking now I should call him Crumbles! after his accident!

Sweet crumbles.... what a darling 

He is a darling and I love him to peices. Hubby has spent the whole morning putting up a steel hand rail so he can't run and jump over the retaining wall and hurt himself again.

Thats really sweet.. Biscuit/ AKA Crumbles thats got a kinda ring to it....

That is great!! Hopefully that will stop any more nasty accidents. Good one.

yes my girls have been desperatly thinking of names for our next litter. We named all the pups last time and even though they all changed when they got their new mums and dads we still refer to them as their puppy names..
Need some good names for the next litter... any suggestions?? last time we had 7 girls and one boy

yes need lots of blonde dog names lol since we have blonde dogs lol

Oh no not lot of blonde jokes......

Some come to mind for blondes  Marilyn, Madonna, Christina, Hilary, Paris (well she is a dog), Brad for a boy etc.... 

I named my STB'S after my fav band's, & ill continue to name any of my future SBTS with music / band names etc
