Very true the problem with greyhounds as you already know a small tear or cut can lead into a big one very quickly as they cut and tear very easily. Let us know how he gets on...

Re: pet of the month "may 09"
What did Biscuit do to himself???
Shareem, I bought Natalie a bed for the living room at $90.00 and one for the kitchen, very large. You can't see, but Mingo is in the bed for Nat
Soon Nat won't fit, maybe she'll start using her own beds.. I tried picking them up and switching them, they just go back, I think Natalie feels the pink bed is "prime real estate" Ya know, location, location, location, her food is just behind the cupboard door:D

Re: pet of the month "may 09"
Biscuit sunday week went zoomies around the yard accross the driveway and onto the concret and slipped and wacked his foot on the one brick retaining wall for the carport (this has been there for 7years) and fell over it. The brick just about cut his front foot off (right down to the cartledge and tendons ect) and he scrambled back up on the brick to get up and ripped his back knees apart (stitches there to) and has chuncks taken out everywhere. Because it is a high moving point the knuckle and the degree of the mess he has to be kept confined so it heals perfect and hoping no long term after affects. It is doing well at the moment and hopefully stitches come out tuesday that will be 15 days. He is missing obeidence and agility just wants to get out there and play!

Re: pet of the month "may 09"
Wow he did a good job then let's hope it all gets back to normal without any real damage. The vet bills must be piling up for you. I would imagine treatment would not be that cheap. Do you have pet insurance?

Re: pet of the month "may 09"
The vet bills are not to bad the frist visit was $461 second $28 Third $28 and the forth with stitches out ? Yes we have pet insurance on him (that goodnes) we have RACQ which covers up to $500 each incident and we pay an excess of $50 and the weekly fee is $6 so I am very gratefull I didn't listen to hubby who didn't want it. When he was a little puppy he used to eat rocks (we have 55 meters of roadbase driveway and we were ment to stop him doing it????)and the vet said be careful he might not pass one, one day and you will need surgery so that did it for me I went and got insurance. I know there are better ones out there but this one is fine for us at this stage.

Re: pet of the month "may 09"
It is a wonderful thing I have it for mine as well and get up to $12,000 a year in vet expenses. I am not the sort of person that has alot of money but to me this is invaluable if and when my dogs need expensive treatments, surgeries etc at least now I can pay for it without worrying. I am with Medibank private with mine cost me $38 a month for the both of them well worth the peace of mind for me.
