Hello dog lovers

A little about myself and family. I am a 38yr married mum of 19yr old daughter and we have 2 beautiful greyhounds that we adopted. We have a 6yr old blue brindle girl called Checke and a 5month old brindle and white male called Biscuit. Checke is our princess and just loves taking over the lounge and Biscuit just loves everyone and the closer he is to you the happier he is. Biscuit is doing obeidence so that when he is old enough he can do agility. We are also foster career's of these beautiful dogs and have been for over 5 years and I love it and them and there is never 2 the same. The photo's are of my beautiful Biscuit and his toys and Checke asleep with two foster dogs Bomber (black) and Hulk (tan and white)

Thankyou for the kind words. They are so beautiful and so misunderstood. We attend promo events to raise awareness and so people can met and pat the ones we have available. There are many people who have only ever seen a greyhound on the track and don't realise they make wonderful pets. We get alot of people who say that they didn't realise they were so gentle and so soft. I love them and we do what we can to help find them there forever homes. Bomber (black grey) has now found his forever family he has gone to live in Indooroopilly qld. Now awaiting my next foster dog....very exciting.......

is it true greyhounds must always wear a muzzle when not on their own property???

In most of the shires yes that is true. That is why people are scared of them they think that they eat small children and anything that moves, which is not true. My dogs all love kids and people they are real traitors they would go to anyone that had a nice warm couch....lol...Our Checke lived with 8 cats and 8 dogs before we adopted her and Biscuit met his frist cat the other day and it hissed at him and now he is scared of them...It was really funnny....lol It is a really old law that we are all trying to change but like everything it takes time...hooohmmm

Welcome to the forum Yacket's Mum you have a breed of dog very close to my heart. Such beautiful gentle creatures they really are. More of the public are becoming more aware that greyhounds are not vicious but are gentle loving souls. I think that greyhound adoption programs are so vital for saving many a greyhound that would now be dead. You do a wonderful job.

Thankyou for the lovely welcome. Yes my fur kids are wonderful. We had a promo event over the weekend to raise awareness for these beautiful dogs and Biscuit was the hit of the town. He was such a good boy for his very frist promo and loved everyone and everyones dogs. Checke did what all greyhounds do best SLEPT and made people come to her if they wanted a pat. Hulk had alot of people interested in him so hopefully we will find his forever home soon. He is such a darling big boy and really sooky.

Thats great that hulk may have a new home. The adoption drives and publicity stalls are the best thing out for rescues and getting dogs out to the public more to the point for greyhounds that often get the raw end of the stick. Muzzles are such a put off. Let us know Hulks outcome okay. Thanks

He is a darling but he is huge so a little off putting for some people. I love them all they bring so much joy into our lives and then they find there forever homes which is the most rewarding part. I do have to admit that I am a sook and when some of them leave I cry but they deserve there new homes and we have more ready to come to the program who are just waiting for there special family.
