Re: is it normal????
How old is the birdy now??
Have you started to give less feedings this will encourage the bird to eat more seed.
Is the cockateil with the rosella if he/she is with birds that eat seed this will also encourage the seed eating thing.
I wouldn't worry to much my Galah is 1 yr old and still enjoys a bit of mix every now and then .

ummm not sure how old now lol
it is in the cage with the rosella and my other cockateil which all of them eat the seed so i just dont get why this one is taking ages.......
i have tried cutting down its food and still refuses to eat seed
it would rather starve!

Re: is it normal????
what sort of flooring do u have, is it possible to scatter food on the floor, it would be easier for the young ones just to pick up at random rather than out of dishes until they start, even when they do start to play with seed make sure that they are husking it and not just playing with it, continue the feeds but cut them back, i presume it is fully feathered, dont forget even fully feathered young still get fed by parents for a while, also what sort of seed r u feeding? and give some greens like milk thisle etc to entice them into nibbling
