BIG PROBLEMS
Hello all,
Well between Kimba and the salon building all of use are exhasted...... And this is one problem we really dont need..
MISS LAYLA..
Well when we took her on she was still recovering from her past.. she has put on 10kg and looking great her coat is shiney and has BOUNDS of energy on her walks...
Now she is a sweet girl and has been since we got her.. BUT.... the past 2 or 3 weeks have sparked a major change in her...
First she was getting more agressive at the gate.... so we decided to work on that with a clicker and rattle bottle... worked like a charm she has all but settled at the gate...
Walks like a charm never puts a foot wrong..
The BIG iussue is sudden agression for the other dogs....
Today her and Zena had a HUGE fight becasue LAYLA wanted all the attention and Zena DEAR try to get some... She literal lashed out at poor Zena for NO reason and earned her self a BIG TALKING TO...
Then around Saturday she went for our pug Jenna.. for no reason all puggy was doing was a Wee yet again she got a good TALKING TO..... now the little dogs have to go in the font yard on leads ..
And yesterday she was at the door.... Bethany came out with me to groom a dog and layla went for her....
These sudden out bursts of agression are very worrying... All her hackles go up her lip curls and she GOES it isnt a play thing... We are worried if she would go for us......
We took her to the vet to see if she had any pain and she has a CLEAN bill of health.
We honestly dont know what to do.... I have delt with an agressive DANE but she was dog agressive on the streets due to fear .... Why layla has suddlenly turned is beyond us...
We dont want to rehome her if she does have these issues...... We took her on so we will deal with it as it comes...
Any idea on what to do we are really stumped.....

Re: BIG PROBLEMS
Does she show a look on her face before snapping?? If she does quickly turn her away from the other dogs and get her mind ocupied on something else like a ball or frisbie.
Unfortunatly because you have so many dogs its going to be hard to rectify, she is trying to put her mark in the dominance order.
Do you have a local dog obedience person? maybe give them a call they might be able to give you an answer to try over the phone.
Good luck!!!
Oh by the way do you have a petstock near you??? they are all looking for dog groomers!

Re: BIG PROBLEMS
Nope no signals that is why it is so worrying she is sweet and loving one minute and the lashing out another....
We are going to call the obediance centre and see today.....
Kimba has always been TOP DOG so to speak and as she is really on her way out we think Layla is trying to take over.. Kimba was always a good Ruler so to speak layla seems like the Queen of hearts.."OFF WITHTHEIR HEADS"
Thanks guys....... We never had this problem before with ANY DOGS so it is a first.....

Re: BIG PROBLEMS
She knows kimba is on the way out and she is telling everyone she is boss I would seek professional help on this and quickly before one of the dogs really pay for it and or you get bitten in the outlashings. I know you will work you way through this but your right to ask for help... good luck.
