Hi from the U.S...

Post by lorie on Fri Oct 10, 2008 9:53 am

Hi There,
I just happened to find this site and everyone seems friendly!! Very Happy
I'm from Connecticut and love dogs, mine especially sunny
Flamingo is a toy poodle, we call her Mingo..
I think everyone here is from Australia, so, I hope I'm not butting in, but I think Australia is beautiful and facinating and would love to visit one day..
I think Tasmania is especially mysterious. Here is Mingo..

I groom Mingo, I use chalk. I am a Groomer and Head Custodian at a grammer school.
I do belong to groomer forum , but I don't always want to talk grooming, sometimes it's nice to just about my dog and hear others .. talking about their pets. I love you

I think poos are so smart too, I read somewhere that the border collie is considered the smartest, poos second..

Australia is sooo beautiful and some places are so wild looking!
I would love to see pics of where you live... I learned about rain tanks that many people there have... They are just in baby stages of catching on here... I plan to get one to save my well water and use it in the groom shop..

Thanks I will I will go hunting now...

Looking down the steps to eastern beach

My favourite house in Geelong Corio Villa

Eastern Beach where we used to swim as children and people still do its one of the most popular inner city beaches.

One of our smaller shopping Malls

What we refer to the market square a very popular meeting place for locals.

Looking up the Main Street of Geelong (moorabool street)

Looking down Moorabool Street towards the bay.

Looking back over the bay in the opposite direction last summer

That is it I will recharge the batteries in the digital camera today and get some more photos it will give me the perfect excuse to get out with the dogs... not that I need one. Enjoy.

HI there!
Well, I guess we have some pretty places here, It just seems you have such a grand scale of things that are breathtaking.. and extremly diverse..
Do you have many public places and restaurants that allow pets? We only have a few...so, we stay home a lot.. Very Happy

Restaurants etc that welcome dogs are far and few between they will allow you to sit outside with them but NEVER inside. Unlike Europe where dogs go where ever people go. We unfortunately cannot do these things. Even with small dogs. Such a pity but I can also see why. In summer we are not allowed to walk dogs on beaches only during designated hours. Then most of the time they have to be on leash. More's the pity.

It's pretty much like that here too, there are a few outdoor places, but also, they are seasonal, so only a few months, really.. Crying or Very sad

I've taken her into Target a few times to try on Doggie clothes and noone said anything, but it's a ways to travel and get turned away at the door. I can't (won't) leave her in the car..
I've gotten kicked out of a few places with her in her shoulder bag.... Very Happy Jees, she's just like my kid, and better behaved than some real kids running around in stores..

I agree with you I will leave mali and hilary in the car but only where I can see them. Hilary would love me to take her everywhere she is such a sweetheart. I know I cannot see the harm if they are in a bag or carrier that they cannot go with you into stores. But thats the rules for you. Sometimes they really suck.

Ya, they do... I worked really hard to socialize Mingo, she's not afraid of thunder, friendly, good manners, but I can't take her hardly anywhere!

Its not fair either the responsible pet owners have to pay for the bad ones.
