Before and after

Post by herbiedog on Mon Mar 22, 2010 11:38 am

Taking a look through some pictures and don't know if this shows much difference..

but here's before furminator

here's after

At first he wasn't too keen on it but now he loves it... and blimey the fur that comes out is just amazing .. I can imagine that it must have added to his itchy problems ..I don't expect that it has solved it completely but it must help

There is a big difference in his appearence that is for sure and your right all that extra hair would not be good for his skin and would make him itch. He is still as gorgeous as ever Liz.

There IS a difference! It looks like his true colors came out. it looks like you got off all the dead hairs that were like silver colored. That's great! Kinda like hand stripping, altho I will be the first to admit I don't know a LOT about that. It is very popular with groomers over there.

It sure isn't easy and the time it takes to do it right! No thanks!

That said, the school secretary gave me a box of these things that look like rubber thimbles. They used to use them for page counting before fancy copiers came along.

I put them on a shelf in the groom shop. But then I started paying close attention to certain of my clients like goldens and an irish setter, dogs like that. Some of them would have excessive hair on the fronts of their legs and ears and heads of cockers and I would always shave these parts.

But AFTER I would try to do it the right way with some tools that were supposed to work but never did. Then one day I put two of those things on my fingers and pulled teh hairs out and they came out no problem and the dogs didn't mind at all and I didn't get clipper marks and that's about all I want to learn about stripping.

Unles I learn something else that is easy about it...

End of story..

I dunno! I am liking my finger things. It makes me feel better that I don't have to clipper those parts that I KNOW shouldn't be.

You said Herbie never went to get clippered, that's good. Ithink that's maybe WHY the furminater did such a good job of it. But I really can't express why cause those handstrippers talk a different language , honestly!!!
Me, baby steps, but it helps to talk to you guys about it.

Jeez, I'm evil and mushy inthe same day!

Herbie has started his seasonal itching....

The furminator certainly helps it really surprises me just how much fur comes out even with just a couple of minutes combing... I'm going to start putting the fur out in the garden as the birds have started collecting for their nests.....

The birds love dog hair for their nests. Try sorbolene cream I think we have had this discussion before but it helps Mali with Vitamin E.
